MJ is a recording artist, singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, model and actress. She is recently known for participating on NBC’s mega hit show “The Voice” Season 6 as a Top 20 contestant, Top 5 on Team Usher & TELEVISA’s “La Voz México” (The Voice México) Final Season as a Finalist on Team Alejandro Sanz.

Born in Queens, NY, MJ was raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey by her greek mother, Maria (Anagnostos), and Mexican father, Horacio Jiménez. MJ’s musical experience began early, going to studio sessions and rehearsals with her father (singer/multi-instrumentalist) since she was a baby. At age 14, she took the place of her mother in her father’s 10 piece orchestra as lead vocalist. Singing different genres of music such as jazz standards, pop, r&b, soul, funk, latin, greek, classical, bossa novas, etc. Within no time, the teenager was writing her own songs and accompanying herself on guitar and piano. She also discovered a love for dance and started taking dance classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary dance, mambo, tap and hiphop/street jazz at Broadway Dance Center in New York City.

  • Toured around the world performing on stage with Nile Rodgers and CHIC as a lead vocalist
